What is included?
Prenatal Visits
- Up to 14 prenatal visits with the midwife in your home for office.
- Visit schedule is every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks from 28 weeks until 36 weeks, every week from 36 weeks until birth and as needed.
- All visits are scheduled for a full hour. There is always time to answer all of your questions and concerns.
- Midwife is available by phone at any time for urgent questions or concerns.
- Breastfeeding education and support
- Referral for ultrasound if desired or needed
- Necessary labs can be drawn at your visits.
- Education and counseling about important aspects of pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
Birth Care
- Attendance at your labor and birth by midwife and her assistant. Midwife will remain at your home during your entire labor, birth, and immediate postpartum period (usually 2-3 hours after birth) to provide clinical care and labor support.
- Newborn exam, including vitamin K
- Newborn metabolic screening
- Birth tub available
Postpartum care for mother and newborn
- Up to 5 postpartum visits in your home scheduled at 1 day, 3-5 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 weeks after birth.
Fees
Midwifery care is very economical and total out of pocket costs are almost always less than a hospital birth. La Luz Midwifery LLC offers a variety of payment options to make sure that all families can access midwifery care.
Cash Pay
Please call for prices. A sliding scale is available for qualifying families and payment plans are available. Payment options include cash, check, credit card, or debit card. You may use your HSA, FSA, or HRA to pay for your care.
Private Insurance
We can bill private insurance. Please call for more information.
Medicaid
